Germany has the best Sunday weather. Hands down. It’s like God knows that the people here still somewhat take a sabbath (whether they call it that or not) and blesses the city with amazing afternoons.
Time and again, I’ve experienced weeks sprinkled with cold, showers, hail, and clouds, only to have Sunday be warm and bright. While my friends in the Midwest are digging themselves out of arctic aftermath, I’m having a stroll in Germany with my three favorite boys ever, sun shining, jacket off, and fifty degrees.
I might brag about it if I wasn’t so in awe.
We live on the edge of a large park, maybe the largest in the city. People came out in droves yesterday, filling the paths, the hills, the soccer pitches, and the pétanque courts.
We spent this Sunday afternoon just the four of us. But, often we take walks with other families as that is the proper German way.
Walks deserve company. Company enjoys food. Food starts conversation. Conversation builds friendship. Friendship brings joy. Shared joy pleases God and is the perfect way to thank Him for the splendor of His creation.
