I just discovered your blog and I’m already learning a lot! Thanks for all the reviews, and the specifics re: kids. We are expats in Luxembourg with 2 young kids. We’ve been here a year and we’d like to start traveling more. Your blog will be a great resource!
Thank you for this blog – my husband and I are both geeks of differing interests, and we used your info a lot on our trip to Mulhouse-Colmar-Strasbourg-Nancy. Next, I’m looking at Croatia…or Nantes…or Barcelona. One thing I could use some suggestions on – how do you find the best local tech-y attractions. We always look for industrial museums for him, and applied arts museums for me, but these are not always mentioned in guidebooks.
Hi Laurel,
Great question, and one that deserves it’s own post. In a nutshell, often it’s just simple research, digging deep into the details of other blog posts or listings of things to do in a particular destination. With a little luck, I stumble on something completely nerdy and worthy of our time (and hopefully cheap, to boot). I believe there is a website though for geek travel where users can pin recommendations for others, but I can’t recall the name at the moment. Glad to have helped you, and I hope you thoroughly enjoyed Alsace!

Hi Rosie! Nice to meet you 🙂 and thank you for your kind words. I hope our adventures will inspire you to make some of your own!
I think I might start a Where We’ve Been page like this…really just so I can start keeping better track.
You’ll probably be amazed how many places you’ve already been and inspired to make a list of many more! Send me a link when yours is up 🙂
